Catholic Education Week in Queensland

There were hands everywhere at Mother Teresa school in Brisbane's Ormeau. There is so much of an emphasis on doing and being a Christian, inspired by Mother Teresa. If you look closely you can see Mother Teresa's profile in the school logo.

So inspired was I that I used the theme of hands in this sculpture to share my journey with the community of Sacred Heart Booval, when I delivered my second ever homily! I also caught up with Fale, now an aunty a Sacred Heart but saw me as a student 13 years ago when she was a student at St Claudine's, Wainuiomata in Wellington, New Zealand!

On Wednesday I headed up the Range to Toowoomba for my biannual visit to Mater Dei. Caught up with Eleanor- apparently we are both awesome! And my colourful friends Jane Loveday and Vanessa Horton.

As I enter the twilight of m career in Catholic Education I caught up with Emily Patroni, who I met as a Year 4 student at St Anne's, Sarina, in North Queensland in about 2005. She's now about to begin her career in Catholic Education. What a gift she will be.
