The first trip of the year was a week in Shepparton in country Victoria. The highlight was my visit to St Mary's in Mooroopna where we had a media blitz- interviewed by the local newspaper and WIN TV News.
It's always great to know that my music makes a difference. "May God Be In My Heart" is part of the buddy culture at St Mary's- used to welcome Preps at the beginning of the year and to farewell Grade 6 at the end of the year.
From there it was a trip to the "outback"- the Central Queensland towns of Longreach, Barcaldine and Emerald. I was fortunate to be part of the opening of new facilities in Longreach- a great new school on the site of the old. I just love their motto: "Light Tomorrow With Today".
Then it was off on the Rockhampton Catholic Education Office roadtrain- the Bishop's Inservice Days.
The month finished with a couple of days in Melbourne and a chance to record with Nick and Jim- three new school songs.
