Two fifths of Butterfly Music boarded QF11 bound for Los Angeles for the LA RE Congress on March 18.
First stop was St Ignatius of Loyola School in north LA, where we worked with our students who would help us at the big concert at Congress and were fortunate to have an amazing sound engineer in Jesse, one of the dads at the school. We also were lucky enough to meet Kathleen who produces musicals at St Ignatius and runs the development program AND... she got us in to Disneyland on her pass- thanks Kathleen!
The day before Congress we headed to our old friends at St Irenaeus to work with our student helpers and perform a concert. The famous Ali and her fish face turned up as a special guest!! In the evening we headed out to the ice hockey to see the Ducks go down to the Winnipeg Jets.
Then it was Congress time. Time to catch up with fellow Aussies, Kat Worland, the famous Damiya, Tracy and Andreina, who helped out at my grief workshop on Friday.
Saturday lunch saw me, James Wahl, John Burland and Michael Mangan entertain a lunchtime crowd in the new hall. We all agreed it was our best ever.
The whirlwind tour finished with a game of baseball watching the Anaheim Angels come from behind to beat the LA Dodgers at Anaheim Stadium. Monday Funday was a trip to the Ronald Reagan Library. The museum was brilliant and we were lucky enough to be guided by our friend Dave, who is a "docent in training".
Here's a couple of pictures of the Monday Funday gang and a photo taken by Joanne from WLP of the three of us who work in children's music at WLP- great photo- thanks Joanne!
Late on Monday, exhausted Drew and I boarded QF12 and headed home.
